# Adding your first products on one screen

> On the "Add your first products" screen, type or paste name, price and quantity row by row, press Save, then open the till. You can also scan or add from a file.

The fastest start: type what you sell most, all on one screen, then sell.

## Steps

1. Open "Add your first products" (it is offered when your list is empty).
2. Under "Type them here" fill a row: "Product name", "Sale price" and "Qty on hand". Enter moves to the next field and the next row; a new empty row appears by itself, up to 50. The price and the quantity are optional.
3. Or paste a list from Excel or WhatsApp into a name field: each line becomes a row, with name, price and quantity by column. "Remove row" deletes one.
4. Press "Save". Added products appear under "Added", with "Ready to sell at the cashier."
5. Press "Open the cashier" to sell.
6. Under the list, "Scan with the camera" adds products by their barcode, and "From a file" imports an Excel or CSV file.

## If it doesn't work

- "Add the product name": the marked row has a price or quantity but no name; fill it and save again.
- "No price yet" next to a product: it was saved without a price; set it from Inventory or when the cashier asks.
- "This row was not saved. Check it and save again.": fix the row and press Save.
- "Could not save. Check the connection and try again.": check the internet.

## What the system does not do

It does not ask for cost, barcode or category here; add them later from the product page ([add a product](/help/add-a-product)).

## Common questions

**Do I have to type the quantity?**

It is optional, but the cashier sells only what is in stock, so enter how many you have of each.

**Can I save a product with no price?**

Yes. Leave the price empty and it is saved as "No price yet"; the cashier asks for the price at the first sale.

**Can I add the rest later?**

Yes. Start with what you sell most and add the rest any time from Inventory.
