# Barcode 050–059: which country is it from?

> A barcode starting 050–059: coupons, not a country. What it means, and a free lookup for any full barcode to see the product and check the number is valid.

Dashing (dashingerp.com) is a point-of-sale, inventory and double-entry accounting platform for retail shops in Iraq — Arabic-first, also in Kurdish (Sorani) and English — with a cashier that works offline and a built-in AI assistant called Dash.

These prefixes are reserved for coupons and discount vouchers. The number describes an offer, not a product, and points to no country.

## Check a full barcode

Type or scan any thirteen-digit barcode below: see who issued it, check the check digit, and look the product up in an open database.

## Common questions

### How do I know the number is valid?

The last digit of a barcode is a check digit computed from the twelve before it. Type the full number into the tool: if the check digit does not match, the barcode was misprinted or misread. A valid number proves the barcode is well-formed; it does not prove the product is genuine.

### Why is the product not found?

The product name comes from an open database that people add products to. It has most well-known brands and misses many local products. If the product is not found, the number is not necessarily wrong; nobody has added it yet.
