Have a photo of a pack, or a screenshot from a supplier's message, and want the number under the barcode? Choose the picture and the tool reads every barcode and QR code in it, shows the number and type, says whether it is a link or a valid product barcode, and lets you copy it in one tap. On the other side, type the link to your page or menu and get a QR code for it to download as PNG or SVG. Reading happens inside your browser and the picture is not uploaded anywhere.

## Getting a good read

A close, sharp picture with the whole barcode in it, no glare and no blur. A slightly tilted barcode reads fine; one cut off at either end does not. If the tool finds nothing, move closer and take the photo again.

## What the tool says about the number

It shows the type of code, such as EAN-13, Code 128 or QR. For an EAN-13 it checks the check digit and tells you it is a valid product barcode. That tells you the number was read correctly, not which product it is; to look up a product name, use the barcode scanner.

## Common questions

### Is my picture uploaded to a server?

No. The picture is read inside your browser, and the decoder is loaded from this site. Your picture is not sent to anyone.

### Which codes can it read?

EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39 and QR. It can read more than one code in a single picture.

### It did not read my picture. What now?

Try a sharper, closer or larger picture. If the barcode is in front of you, the camera scanner may succeed where a picture fails.
