For toys and gifts

For toy and gift shops: a gift card with a balance, and the holiday offer that ends on its own date.

Dashing is for a toy and gift shop that lives on seasons: the holidays, back to school, birthdays. An offer starts and ends on its dates, an item shows with its photo on the till grid, and a gift card is sold and redeemed in the cart.

Holiday offers with dates

An offer as a percentage or an amount off the cart, or buy 2 get 1, with a start and end date and a minimum cart if you want one. It ends on its day without you remembering to switch it off.

Gift cards

You sell a card with a balance the buyer chooses, and the person it is given to spends it in one basket or over several visits until the balance is gone.

A photo on the grid

A cashier who does not know a toy by name picks it from the photo grid. Each toy has its own barcode, and colors and sizes are variants under a parent product.

The pricey piece on installments

A bike or a large set can be sold on an installment plan on the invoice with a deposit, each payment recorded against it; if the plan is canceled the shop keeps the deposit by default and can refund it.

What it does not do

No wish lists and no gift registry for occasions. No separate gift-wrapping service: wrapping is an item you sell at a price.

Common questions

Is the gift card sold and redeemed at the same till?

Yes. It is sold as an item with a balance and redeemed as a payment method in the cart.

Can a gift come back without a receipt?

Yes. The cashier picks the item, the software lists the matching sales and the choice is recorded under their name; the window is set in Settings.

Can regular customers collect points?

Yes. Points are earned on each invoice and redeemed inside the cart.
