A ready Excel file to log cashier sales and see each day's total.

If you log your sales in a notebook and want a sheet that adds up for you, this is a ready Excel file. In each row type the date, barcode, item, quantity and price, and the total works itself out; a table on the side then adds up each day and gives the grand total. Pick the first day and the number of decimals, and download the file in your language. At the top of the file is a short note about moving to an app that records the sale when you scan the barcode, so you know the next step when your shop outgrows the sheet.

Decimals in amounts

The file is made in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.

What is in the file

  • 300 sale rows: date, barcode, item, quantity and price; the line total works itself out
  • A daily-totals table for 31 days, with the grand total under it
  • The barcode column is text, so Excel never turns a long code into 6.29E+12

What is in the file

One sheet with 300 sale rows, a daily-totals table for 31 days, and a grand total at the end. The formulas are live: change a number and the totals change. The header row is frozen so the column names stay in view as you scroll. The file opens in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice.

Why the barcode is text

Excel reads a long number as a quantity, turns it into 6.29E+12 and loses its last digits. The barcode column here is formatted as text, so all thirteen digits stay as you typed them and can be pasted into a product list later.

Common questions

What if I need more than 300 rows?

The formulas cover 300 rows. Download a fresh file for each month, which also keeps every month in its own file. If you sell more than that in a day, it is time for an app that records the sale on its own.

Do the daily totals work if I type the date myself?

Yes. Type the date in a form Excel recognises, such as 2026-10-28, and that day's rows are added up in the side table. If the date sits on the left as text, Excel did not recognise it as a date.

Is any data uploaded?

No. The file is made in your browser and is empty; we never see what you type in it afterwards.
