A building materials quotation: the unit and the delivery for every line.

A contractor asks for a quote before buying and compares it line by line. If the selling unit is missing, a tonne gets mixed with a bag and a metre with a piece. This template adds the unit and the delivery timing to each line, so the customer compares on a clear basis. It has sample lines and prices are blank.

Common questions

How long should a quote stay valid?

Building material prices move fast, so write the expiry date clearly and keep it short for steel and cement. After the date you reprice.

Should delivery charges be in the quote?

List it as its own line with a price, because the customer wants to know whether the price is at your yard or at their site. It prevents a dispute at delivery.

How do I turn the quote into an invoice?

Copy the accepted lines into a new invoice and change quantities if they moved. In Dashing you open the invoice from the quote with one click, lines included.

Dashing does this for every item, automatically, in your shop.
