For electrical supplies: cable by the metre, thousands of small parts, and an account per electrician.
Dashing is for a shop that sells cables, switches, breakers and lighting: cable by the metre from the reel, thousands of small parts brought in from a file and given labels, and the regular electrician buying on credit on his account at his prices.
Cable by the metre and the reel
The metre is the base unit and the reel a unit with its factor and barcode. 12.5 metres is sold by typing the quantity with a fraction and is deducted from stock in metres. No scale is connected, so the length is typed.
Thousands of items from a file, with labels
Items and their stock import from a CSV file, and you print barcode labels from Inventory for what has none, such as single breakers.

A minimum per item warns before it runs out, a draft purchase order to the supplier follows from it, and it is received in parts.
The electrician's account and price list
He buys on credit on his account with a credit limit you set, and a price list in his name applies to his invoices; an item outside it sells at the retail price.
What it does not do
It does not hold technical specs such as volts and amps in separate fields: you write them in the item's name or description. It does not work out quantities for a job from a plan.
