Cost price
The cost price is what you actually paid to get the item ready to sell, not what you sell it for.
What it means for a shop owner
If you paid freight or customs on the shipment, they belong in the cost. Without them your profit looks bigger than it is. It is the base for margin and cost of goods sold.
A worked example
You bought 100 pieces for 500 and paid 50 for transport. The cost per piece is 5.5, not 5.
