Foreign cash boxes and exchanging currency
See how much dollar (or other foreign) cash you hold, read each box's statement in its own currency, exchange money between boxes, and count it at shift close.

Each branch keeps one cash box per foreign currency. The box counts in its own currency (for example dollars) and shows its worth in your main currency beside it as a hint.
Steps
- Open "Money" and look at the "Foreign cash" card. Each row shows the amount held, its value in the main currency, and the average rate you got it at.
- Tap a row to read that box's statement. Amounts are in the box's currency; the main-currency value sits underneath. The list is paged.
- To change money, press "Exchange" (also in "Settlements"). Choose "From box" and "To box", then type "Amount out" and "Amount in". The screen shows the rate your two amounts imply next to the box's average rate.
- Press "Exchange". The difference against the average rate is recorded as exchange gain or loss.
- At "Close shift", count each foreign box in its own field. Leave a field empty to skip that box.
Good to know
A box never goes below zero. A currency with no box yet appears in the list as "new box" and is created when you use it.
Common questions
- Do I have to create a dollar box?
- No. The first time dollars come in or go out (a booking payment, an advance, an exchange), the box is created for that branch automatically.
- Can a foreign box go negative?
- No. If a payment or exchange needs more than the box holds, it is refused and the message names the currency.
