Steps
- On any price field, tap the currency written inside the field (for example "IQD") and pick another one from the short list. The shop's main currency comes first, then the currencies already in use; tap "Add other currencies" for the rest. No need to visit Settings first.
- The first time, a window asks for the rate. Type "1 USD = how many dinars", or type the converted total and the rate follows. The two fields are linked.
- Press "Confirm". The rate is saved and used for your next transactions without asking again.
- Under a foreign amount you see the conversion, for example "= 196,500 IQD at 1,310". Tap the rate to change it for this transaction only.
Ask once or every time
By default the rate is asked once and then reused. Tick "Ask me for the rate every time" if your rate changes through the day; the window then opens on each transaction, prefilled with the last rate. A rate that is more than 20% away from the saved one asks you to confirm it first.
Editing the rate later
Open "Settings", then "Currency & tax". Each currency you used shows its saved rate and how long ago it was set. Type a new rate and press the check mark (or Enter) to save it, or switch "Ask me for the rate every time" on or off.
What happens to old documents
Nothing. A document keeps the rate it was made with, so past totals never move. Only future transactions use the new rate.
Bookings, rental types and units
A rental type, a single unit (a room or a space) and a new booking can each be priced in a currency of your choice: pick it next to the price. A unit starts from its type's price and currency, and you can change both, including back to the shop's main currency. A currency without a saved rate asks for one first.
Selling in another currency
On the till, in both the quick and invoice tabs, pick the sale currency. If no rate is saved for it, the rate window opens; saving the rate activates the currency. Prices convert from the main price, and you can tap a line to edit its price. Totals, change and the receipt are all in that currency. After the sale is charged, the till returns to the main currency. While a sale is in a foreign currency, paying part in a second currency is hidden.
Common questions
- Does changing the rate change documents I already made?
- No. Every document keeps the rate it was made with. A new rate applies to future transactions only.
- Can I be asked for the rate every time?
- Yes. Tick "Ask me for the rate every time" in the rate window, or in Settings, then Currency & tax. It is off by default.
