A ceramics quotation: the tile size and the area in square metres.

Ceramic tile is sold by the box and counted in square metres, and a wrong conversion means ordering too little or too much. This template puts the tile size and the covered area in two columns, so the customer understands how many boxes they are buying and why. It has sample lines and prices are blank.

Common questions

How do I work out the number of boxes?

Divide the area needed by the box coverage and round up. Adding 5 to 10 percent for cuts and breakage is common practice; decide the amount from your own experience.

Why can the shade differ between batches?

The tone can differ slightly between two batches, so order the whole quantity at once and note the batch number. Add a spare box for later repairs.

Should installation be quoted?

If you offer it, list it as a per-square-metre line; if not, state that the quote covers materials only. Being clear about what is included saves a long discussion.

Dashing does this for every item, automatically, in your shop.
