For computer shops

For computer shops: a serial per machine, a quote for a company and installments for a person.

Dashing is for a shop that sells laptops, parts and accessories to people and companies: the machine by serial number, a large amount on an installment plan on the invoice, a company with a quote that becomes an invoice in one click, and its special prices kept on its account.

A serial number per machine

Once tracking is switched on in Settings, the serial is recorded at receiving and stays with the machine through the sale and the return, and you can search by it in inventory and invoices.

A quote, then the invoice

A quote does not deduct stock or post an entry. If the customer accepts it, its lines become a draft invoice in one click without retyping.

Installments and company prices

An installment plan on the invoice itself tracks each installment, and a named price list assigned to a customer applies its prices to their invoices; an item not on the list sells at the retail price.

Suppliers and purchase orders

Repairs as work orders

A machine that comes in for repair gets a work order with its parts from stock and the technician's charge, and an invoice is issued at pickup.

What it does not do

It does not record a warranty or its end date: you write it in a note or on the invoice. It does not assemble a machine from components or check that they are compatible, and there is no online store.

Common questions

Can I sell a laptop and record its serial?

Yes, once tracking is switched on for the item in Settings; the numbers are recorded at receiving.

Can a company get its own prices?

Yes. Create a price list with items and prices you set and assign it to that customer.

Does a quote reduce stock?

No. No stock and no entry until it becomes an invoice and you confirm it.
