For fabric shops

For fabric shops: cloth by the metre, the colour as a variant, and a trade price for the dealer.

Dashing is for a shop that sells cloth by the metre from the roll: the metre is the base unit and the roll a unit with a factor, 3.25 metres is sold by typing the quantity with a fraction, a colour or pattern is a variant of the same cloth with its own barcode and stock, and the trader buys wholesale at his own price and on credit.

The metre and the roll

You define the metre as the base and the roll with its factor, a 50 metre roll for example. Each sale is deducted from stock in metres, so what is left of the roll stays visible. No scale is connected and the length is typed.

Colour and pattern as variants

The cloth is a parent item and its colours are its variants, each with its own barcode, price and stock in every branch. No tool generates the variants, so each colour is entered once.

Trade price and credit

A named price list assigned to the trader applies to his invoices, and you sell on his account with a due date and a credit limit and collect his payments from his page.

What it does not do

It does not track each roll on its own, the dye lot, or the leftovers after cutting: stock is a total of metres per item. It does not work out how much cloth a garment or a curtain needs.
