For laundries

For small laundries: a number per drop-off, a pickup date, and an account per customer.

Dashing is for a laundry with a drop-off and pickup counter: each drop-off is a work order with a number, a pickup date and a state, the charge for each piece or item is a line on the order, and the invoice is issued at pickup. It suits a small counter. It is not a plant system that tags every garment.

A number per drop-off and a clear state

Each work order gets a sequential number, and the clerk writes what was received in its description, for example 4 shirts and a suit. The state moves from intake to in progress to ready for pickup, and the order is found by its number when the customer comes.

A pickup date

The promised date is recorded at drop-off and shows beside the order in the list, so you can see what is past its date.

Sell with an invoice

The charge is a line on the order

Washing and pressing charges are written as lines with amounts you set, and closing issues a draft invoice with them. Payment is cash at pickup, or booked as a debt on a regular customer's account and collected later.

Collect a payment from a customer

What it does not do

There is no tag or barcode per garment and no tracking of each piece inside an order: the description is text the clerk types. No automatic pricing by the kilo, no route plan for home pickup and delivery, and no automatic messages to the customer.

Common questions

Does each drop-off get a number I can hand over?

Yes. Every work order has a sequential number you write on the paper slip or tell the customer.

Can I tag every shirt?

No. The description on the work order is free text, and the software does not print a tag per garment.

Can a customer pay at the end of the month?

Yes. The invoice is booked as a debt on their account and the payment is collected from the customer page, with a statement you can share by link.
