Backup

A backup is a copy of your data stored somewhere else, so you can restore it if the original is lost or damaged.

What it means for a shop owner

A device can be stolen, break or get coffee spilled on it. A copy on the same device does not help. Test a restore once to be sure it works, not only the making of it.

A worked example

Your device failed on 3 March. Yesterday copy is safe, so you lose one day of sales instead of 3 years.
