Cash flow forecast
A cash flow forecast is a table that estimates what will come into and go out of your cash in the coming weeks or months.
What it means for a shop owner
It shows a shortfall before it happens, so you have time to delay a purchase, collect a debt or ask for more time. Put in expected sales, debts due to you, rent, salaries and supplier payments. Update it every week.
A worked example
At the start of the month you hold 5000. You expect 8000 in and 11000 out, leaving 2000 at the end, so you know to collect debts.
