Goods received note
It is a document recording what actually arrived from the supplier: the items, quantities, condition and date of receipt.
What it means for a shop owner
Compare it with the purchase order and the supplier's invoice before you pay. Record any shortage or damage on the day so the supplier accepts the claim. Sign it with the driver.
A worked example
You ordered 100 and only 96 came, so the note records 96 and you claim the other four.
