Reserved stock

Reserved stock is a quantity you hold but have set aside for a customer's order and should not sell to anyone else.

What it means for a shop owner

It protects you from selling an item twice. Set a time limit on a hold and release it if the customer does not collect. Review old holds weekly.

A worked example

You hold 8 chairs for a customer for 3 days, and after that they go back on sale if he does not come.
