Sales order
A sales order is a document that records what the customer ordered, its price and the delivery date before the invoice is issued.
What it means for a shop owner
It fixes the agreement between you and the customer and reserves the quantity. It is not revenue yet, since revenue is recorded at delivery and invoice. It can be turned into an invoice in one step.
A worked example
A customer orders 100 boxes at 12, so the order is worth 1200, and the invoice is issued on delivery.
