Shift handover

A shift handover is passing responsibility from one employee to the next, with a cash count and a note of what they need to know.

What it means for a shop owner

Counting at handover shows who is responsible for any gap. Leave a note on pending orders and problems. Have staff sign off the close.

A worked example

The morning shift hands over 1450 and the evening shift counts 1450, so there is no gap.
