Tax number
A tax number is a number the tax authority gives your business to identify it, and it is printed on tax invoices.
What it means for a shop owner
You need it to issue a tax invoice and to deduct tax on your purchases. Check a supplier number before you rely on his invoice. Do not post your number anywhere but invoices.
A worked example
A supplier invoice carries a tax number of 15 digits. If the number is missing or does not match the register, do not deduct its tax.
