Tax rate
The tax rate is the percentage added to a price or taken from a profit, depending on the type of tax.
What it means for a shop owner
The rate may differ by item or category. Set it in your system to match your country law and review it after any official change. Do not work it out from memory.
A worked example
The price is 400 and the rate is 15 percent: the tax is 60 and the total is 460.
