For butchers

For butchers: meat by the kilo and gram, wastage on record, and the restaurant account kept open.

Dashing is for a butcher that sells meat and chicken by weight, sells frozen and packed goods with an expiry date, and supplies restaurants on credit: weight is a fractional quantity you type, batches are switched on for packed items, and wastage is recorded with a reason.

Selling by the kilo and gram

The kilo is a unit and the gram is a unit, and you type the quantity with fractions such as 1.250 kg at the price per kilo. Stock is deducted in the base unit. No scale is connected, so you read the weight off your scale and type it.

Units and carton barcodes

Expiry dates for frozen and packed goods

Batches are switched on for the items that carry an expiry date, so each delivery is a batch with its date, the till suggests the nearest expiry, and a home-screen card shows what expires soon.

Wastage and trimming

What is thrown away as bone and fat, or spoils, is recorded from the item page as damage / loss in kilos, so the gap between what you bought and what you sold shows with its reason.

Accounts for restaurants and regulars

A credit limit and a due date for each customer, a receipt when they pay, and a statement sent as a link on WhatsApp. You assign a price list to a trade customer and their cart is priced on its own.

What it does not do

No scale is connected and a barcode that carries a weight is not read: the weight is typed. It does not track temperature or the cold chain, and it does not split a carcass into cuts automatically.

Common questions

How do I sell 750 grams of meat?

Make the kilo the base unit and type 0.75 at the till at the price per kilo, or define the gram as a unit and type 750.

Does it read the weight from the scale?

No. The scale is not connected, so you type the weight at the till.

Do I track the expiry of every cut?

No. Batches are a choice per item: switch them on for frozen and packed goods and leave them off for what sells the same day.
