For tyres and lubricants: the size is a variant, oil goes by the litre, and fitting is a work order.
Dashing is for a shop that sells tyres and oil and fits them: one tyre model in its sizes as variants with their own barcodes and stock, oil by the drum and the litre in fractional quantities, fitting as a work order with a charge, and a set of tyres sold on an installment plan on the invoice.
Sizes as variants
The tyre is a parent item and its sizes, such as 205/55R16 and 225/45R17, are its variants, each with its own barcode, price and stock in every branch. No tool generates the variants, so each size is entered once.
Oil by the drum and the litre
The litre is the base unit and the drum or gallon a unit with its factor and barcode. 4.5 litres is sold by typing the quantity with a fraction and stock is deducted in litres.

Start freeFitting as a work order
You open a work order with the customer and a description of the car, add the tyres and oil from stock and the fitting charge as its own line, and one invoice is issued at pickup.
A set on installments, a fleet on credit
An installment plan on the invoice itself tracks each installment, and a transport company buys on its account with a credit limit and a due date.
What it does not do
It does not keep a vehicle record or the next service date, and it does not book fitting appointments. It does not record a tyre's manufacture date (DOT) or follow each tyre by number.
Common questions
Can I sell oil by the litre from a drum?
Yes. Make the litre the base unit and the drum a unit with its factor, and each sale is deducted in litres.
How do I enter tyre sizes?
Create the tyre as a parent item and add each size as a variant with its barcode, or import the items from a CSV file.
Can I charge for fitting?
Yes, as its own line on the work order with an amount you set, issued with the tyres on one invoice.
