Cash on hand
Cash on hand is the physical cash you actually hold right now, in the drawer or the safe.
What it means for a shop owner
It should match what the system says. Never mix it with your personal money. Bank the surplus regularly so it does not pile up in the shop.
A worked example
The system says 3200 and you count 3200 in the drawer, so the till matches.
