Exchange

An exchange is when a customer brings an item back and takes another in its place, settling only the price gap instead of refunding all.

What it means for a shop owner

A refund gives money back, while an exchange keeps the money and swaps the item. It is kinder to the shop because the sale is kept. Set a clear policy for the time limit and the item condition.

A worked example

A shirt at 40 is exchanged for another at 55. The customer pays only the 15 difference.
