Footfall

Footfall is the number of people who walk into your shop in a day or an hour, whether they buy or not.

What it means for a shop owner

Invoices count only buyers, so count the others with a counter or by hand for a week. It helps you decide opening hours and staff numbers. A good location raises it more than advertising does.

A worked example

In a day 120 people came in and 30 of them bought. Footfall is 120 and the number of invoices is 30.
