POS terminal
A POS terminal is the device where you ring up sales and take payment, which may be a computer, a tablet or a touch screen with its add-ons.
What it means for a shop owner
Pick what survives your shop: heat, dust and heavy use. Check it connects to the printer, scanner and cash drawer you have. Start with one and add more as needed.
A worked example
A small shop starts with 1 terminal, a printer and a scanner. After 6 months, with an evening rush, it adds a second one.
