Receipt

A receipt is the slip or message you give a customer after a sale, showing what he bought, what he paid and the date.

What it means for a shop owner

It is the customer's proof for a return or warranty and your proof in any dispute. You can send it digitally instead of printing to save paper; what matters is that it carries a number you can search by.

A worked example

Receipt no. 1042: 2 × 15 + 1 × 20 = 50, paid 50. The cashier finds it by number if the customer comes back.
