Receipt voucher

A receipt voucher is a document proving you received a sum from a customer, stating the amount, the reason and the date.

What it means for a shop owner

It is used when collecting a debt or deposit, where there is no new sale. One copy goes to the customer and you keep one, so nobody denies the payment or misstates the amount.

A worked example

A customer owes 400 and pays 150 today. A receipt voucher for 150 is issued and 250 remains.
