Return to supplier

It is sending faulty, surplus or wrong goods back to the supplier in return for a refund, a replacement or a credit note.

What it means for a shop owner

Read the return terms in your purchase agreement before ordering. Photograph the fault, keep the invoice and return within the agreed time. Record the return so your stock and what you owe the supplier both fall.

A worked example

You return 5 faulty pieces at 12, so what you owe the supplier falls by 60.
