Sales commission
A sales commission is an amount or percentage of the sale value paid to the seller as a reward for what they sold.
What it means for a shop owner
Set the rule clearly before you start: on sales or on profit, and whether it is cancelled on a return. Write the agreement down for the employee. Work it out from system figures, not memory.
A worked example
The commission is 3 percent and the seller sold 4000, so he is paid 120.
