Commission for every salon staff member: one rate on services, another on products.
Pay a stylist or barber a share of what they sold and want clear numbers at the end of the week? Type the commission rate on services, a different rate on products if you use one, then each staff member's sales. You get a sheet with each person's commission and the salon total, ready to print or save as a PDF. If your rate rises as sales grow, add a tier, such as a higher rate once services pass a set amount in the week.

Work out each staff member's commission from their own sales in a free shop, instead of adding numbers by hand.
Start freeHow the commission is worked out
The services commission is the service sales multiplied by the rate, and the products commission is the product sales multiplied by its rate. If you leave the products rate blank, the services rate is used for products; if you type zero, products earn nothing. Each amount is rounded to the currency's decimals, and an invalid number counts as zero.
Tiers: all services or only the part above
Tiers work in one of two ways. In the first, once a staff member's sales reach a limit, the tier's rate applies to all their services. In the second, the higher rate applies only to the part above the limit. For example, with 40 percent and 45 percent after 1,000, and sales of 1,500: the first way gives 675, the second gives 400 plus 225, which is 625. Agree the method with your team before the period starts.
From a weekly sheet to automatic figures
This tool works from numbers you type. In a free shop on Dashing you create a commission rule as a percent of revenue or of margin, per day, week or month, and each staff member's commission is calculated from their recorded sales. Note that tiers and a separate products rate belong to this tool; a Dashing commission rule is a single percent of revenue or margin.
Common questions
Should commission be on revenue or on profit?
The tool works from the amounts you type, so enter service sales the way you agreed it with the staff member. Commission on revenue is simpler and clearer for them; commission on profit protects your margin when discounts are frequent.
What does a blank products rate mean?
The services rate is used for products too. Type zero if you pay no commission on products.
Does it handle discounts or tax?
No. It works out commission from the numbers exactly as you type them, so enter each person's sales after discount if that is how you pay commission.
Does the tool keep my staff numbers?
They stay in your browser on your device only and are not sent to any server.
