Sales target

A sales target is a number you set for what you want to sell in a period, for the whole shop or for one employee.

What it means for a shop owner

Keep it reachable and base it on earlier months. Split it by day to know if you are ahead or behind. Tie a bonus to it if you want to motivate the team.

A worked example

The monthly target is 6000, or 200 a day. After 10 days you sold 1500, so you are 500 behind.
