Stock rotation

Stock rotation is arranging shelves so the oldest goods sit at the front and are sold before the newer ones.

What it means for a shop owner

When a new delivery arrives, put it behind the old stock, not in front. This prevents expiry and cuts waste. It is the hands-on way of applying the oldest-first rule in the shop.

A worked example

The fridge holds 6 packs dated 10 March. 12 packs dated 25 March arrive, so you put them behind the 6 so those sell first.
