Upsell
An upsell is offering a customer a better or pricier version of the item they picked, so they buy that one instead of the original.
What it means for a shop owner
It works when you suggest something that really helps the customer, not just anything dearer. It raises the bill without needing a new customer. The seller should know the quality gap between the two options well enough to explain it in one sentence.
A worked example
A customer wants a phone at 200 and you show the next model at 260 because its battery lasts longer. If they agree, the bill rises by 60, which is 30 percent.
