Glossary

Variant

A variant is one specific form of an item that differs by size, colour or flavour, and has its own stock count.

What it means for a shop owner

Variants sit under one parent item to keep the list tidy, yet each carries its own code and maybe its own price. That way you see at once which size ran out. Do not create a new item for every colour, add it as a variant.

A worked example

One shirt in 3 sizes and 2 colours gives 6 variants. If 2 blue M are left and 0 red M, each variant shows its own number.
