Volume discount
A volume discount is a lower price per unit given to whoever buys a larger quantity in one order.
What it means for a shop owner
A supplier gives it to you and you give it to your big customers. Compare the price saving with the cost of storing the extra quantity. Keep the tiers clear and written down.
A worked example
A piece costs 10, and from 100 pieces up it is 9. Buying 150 pieces costs 1350 instead of 1500.
