Work order

A work order is a document naming a job to be done, such as a batch to make or a device to repair, with who does it and by when.

What it means for a shop owner

It suits workshops, repair shops and bakeries that produce to order. It ties the material used and the labour to the job so you can see the profit on each. Do not close it before you record what was really used.

A worked example

A screen repair: technician labour 40, a part costing 90, and a charge to the customer of 200. The job profit is 70.
