Z report

A Z report is a report that closes the day or shift and resets the till totals, so only a new day starts after it.

What it means for a shop owner

It differs from an X report, which gives the current picture without closing. Keep a copy of each Z report as a record of the day. What it holds cannot be changed after closing.

A worked example

Before closing, an X report shows sales of 1,200. After the Z report the counter returns to 0 and 1,200 is kept in that day record.
