When the till sells while the internet is off, Dashing never turns the sale away. It books the sale or holds it, and tells you here. Open "Money", then "Needs attention". The main page shows a line, "N need attention", when something is waiting.
Steps
- Each row says what happened, how serious it is (High, Medium or Low), the amount involved and the date. "Open the invoice" shows the sale.
- A held sale: press "Approve", then "Confirm approve" to book it, or "Reject", then "Confirm reject" to drop it. If the sale still cannot be booked after you approve, the row says why and stays open.
- A Low item: press "Acknowledge".
- Money taken by a method the shop does not know sits in "Unclassified receipts". Press "Move the money", choose the account it belongs to, check the amount and date, write a reason, then "Move". The item closes by itself.
- Other items close with a document, such as a credit note for a sale total that differed. Press "Resolve with a document", choose the type, enter its number, then "Resolve".
- Use the two filters to see closed items or one kind only.
Sales that are waiting
Some sales are held for a reason you do not decide, for example the accounts list needs a fix, the period for the sale date is closed, or a credit sale has no customer. Their row says what it waits for and shows Try again instead of Approve and Reject. Fix the cause, then press "Try again". If it still cannot be booked, the row stays and says so. If the cause is something Dashing has to fix, our team has been told and nothing is lost.
What the system does not do
It never changes a sale by itself, and it never closes an item just because time passed.
Common questions
- Why is a sale held?
- The till sold it, but the books cannot take it yet: a branch was not named, an exchange rate is missing, or a rule you set applies. A held sale books nothing until you approve it. Rejecting it books nothing at all.
- What does Acknowledge do?
- It is for small notes only, such as a sale time the till had to adjust. It closes the item and changes no number.
- Who sees this page?
- The owner, managers and accountants. A cashier does not see it.
