For tailors

For tailors: each garment is a work order with a promised date, and one invoice at pickup.

Dashing is for a tailoring shop that takes a garment from a customer and promises a date: you open a work order with the customer, a description of the piece and the promised date, assign it to whoever sews it, add fabric and thread from stock and the sewing charge, then close the order into one invoice at pickup.

A work order per garment

The order opens with the customer, a description of the piece, intake notes and the promised date, and is assigned to a person. Its states: intake, diagnosing, awaiting parts, in progress, ready for pickup, then closed with an invoice. Dash can raise an order that has passed its promised day.

Sell with an invoice

Fabric from stock, the charge as its own line

Fabric, thread and buttons are taken from stock at their price, and the sewing charge is written as its own line with an amount you set per piece. Closing issues a draft invoice with the parts and the charge together.

Credit and the customer's balance

A customer who pays after pickup is booked as a debt on their account with a due date, the payment is collected later from the customer page, and you can set a credit limit for them.

What it does not do

It does not store customer measurements or fitting details: you write what you need in the work order's notes. No appointment booking and no automatic message to the customer when the piece is ready: your staff contact them.

Common questions

Can I record the pickup date?

Yes. The promised date is entered when the work order is opened and shows beside the order in the list.

Is the fabric deducted from stock?

Yes, if you add it to the order as an item from stock. It is deducted when the resulting invoice is confirmed.

Does it send a message when the piece is ready?

No. When the status changes to ready for pickup, your staff call or message the customer.
