A standing discount for a regular customer
Open the customer, press edit and fill "Standing discount (%)": every sale for that customer gets the discount automatically. Leave it empty to remove it.

For a customer you always give 10 percent, set it once and stop typing it at the till.
Steps
- Open "Customers" and select the customer.
- Press edit.
- In "Standing discount (%)" type the percentage, for example 10.
- Save. The hint under the field says it is applied automatically to every sale for this customer.
- At the till, attach the customer and sell as usual.
- To stop it, open the field again, clear it (empty means none) and save.
If it doesn't work
- No discount at the till: check that the customer is attached to the cart.
- A percentage over 100 is not valid; type a number from 1 to 100.
What the system does not do
It does not warn you when the discount makes a sale below cost, and it does not replace a promo code.
Common questions
- Does it change old invoices?
- No. It applies to new sales for the customer, not to invoices already made.
- Price list or standing discount?
- A price list sets a special price per product. A standing discount takes the same percentage off whatever the customer buys.
