A greengrocer receipt: the weight, the grade and the price per kilo.

Vegetables and fruit are sold by weight and prices move from day to day. This template adds two columns: weight in kilos and grade, so you write that day's price per kilo and the customer sees how the amount came about. It has sample rows for seasonal items, and prices are blank because they change daily.

Common questions

How do I write a price that changes daily?

Put that day's price per kilo in the unit-price column and the weight in the weight column, with quantity 1. The line total is weight times price.

Should I weigh in front of the customer?

Yes. Weighing in front of them removes doubt, and you then write the same number on the receipt. An accurate scale, checked from time to time, protects your name.

How do I account for spoilage?

The receipt records only what sold. Write spoilage at the end of the day on a separate sheet to see its share. In Dashing spoilage is recorded as a stock adjustment with a reason.

Dashing does this for every item, automatically, in your shop.
